I’m posting today in support of Barack Obama as the next president of the United States. Not only does he inspire me like no other candidate has before, he stands for the things that I believe in - specifically change. He is for the people, he is for a more transparent leadership, he does not support a decrease in the taxation of the wealthy, he understands how the Patriot Act harms our civil liberties, and he will work to keep our country safe while he also works to bring our troops home. He’s a man of integrity and I believe with him in office we can really make a difference. Yes. We. Can.

I feel a lot like you. I always vote Democratic as I am liberal (yes I’m proud to use the “L” word.) But this year I’m actually really excited about voting FOR someone (Obama) rather than just voting against someone. Sure I’d be voting against McCain no matter who the Dem nominee is. But It’ll sure feel good to vote for someone I actually believe in. Barack Obama 2008!

I couldn’t agree more! Voting FOR someone instead of trying to decide on the lesser evil is how I’ve often looked at it as well. BTW-your blog is a great read!!

Obama is the most charismatic leader to run for president in my lifetime.
JamesP´s last blog post..Can it be that Obama supporters are the racist ones?

Hi JamesP, Thanks for stopping by.
I followed your Comment Luv link. The video you linked to in your post is troubling. Unfortunately, there ARE people who are going to vote for Barack Obama because he’s black - just as there are people who will NOT vote for him because he’s black. There are varying degrees of ignorance to be found in supporters of both John McCain and Barack Obama. We can only educate ourselves, stay informed, and do our best to shed light on what we’ve learned with others when the opportunity presents itself.
