The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has worked since 1954 to promote the protection of all animals. With nearly ten million members and constituents, The HSUS is the nationâ€™s largest and most powerful animal protection organization, working in the United States and abroad to defend the interests of animals. They celebrate the human-animal bond, and fight animal cruelty and abuse in all of its forms. The Humane Society International has chapters in places like Asia, Canada, Europe and Australia and are making strides to help and protect animals all over the world. World Wildlife Fund’s mission is the conservation of nature. Using the best available scientific knowledge and advancing that knowledge where they can, they work to preserve the diversity and abundance of life on Earth and the health of ecological systems by:

protecting natural areas and wild populations of plants and animals, including endangered species;
promoting sustainable approaches to the use of renewable natural resources; and
promoting more efficient use of resources and energy and the maximum reduction of pollution.

Their website is jammed pack full of information on conservation efforts, endangered species, and how to get involved. They give special attention to their flagship species: giant pandas, tigers, endangered whales and dolphins, rhinos, elephants, marine turtles and great apes. It also has contains an amazing collection of beautiful pictures, and fun stuff like games, free e-cards, and free wallpaper. It’s a must see site!

The Animal Rescue Site was founded to helpfeed and care for some of the 27 million unwanted animals given to shelters in the US every year. With the simple, daily click of the purple “Fund Food for Animals” button,visitors fund bowls of food for formerly neglected or abused animals now living in shelters or sanctuaries. Visitors pay nothing. Site sponsors pay for all funding, which benefits three leading animal welfare charities: The Fund for Animals, Petfinder.com Foundation and North Shore Animal League America.

Save The Tiger Fund is dedicated to supporting the conservation of Asiaâ€™s remaining wild tigers. They sponsor effective efforts to stop the killing of wild tigers and to enable wild tigers to recover and flourish, while empowering local people to live in balance with natural resources and providing tangible benefits to them whenever possible.
